MSI
maintains a "Plate and Hold" program designed to provide JIT product
and at the same time minimize higher customer inventory costs from plating.
Customers and their suppliers release reel-to-reel, continuous product to MSI
to be accepted into their virtual warehouse. MSI will set up agreed min/max
inventories of product in finish-plated condition for release within a pre-set
schedule. Products are released and shipped immediately following notification
by the customer. In 2003 MSI plans to provide extranet access to customers for
inventory and release validation.
