POSITION OVERVIEW
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the department’s shipping and receiving efforts. The Coordinator will be responsible for completing and filing specialized reports and logs required by customers and assist with completing shipping documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general supervision performs the following:
Coordinates between customers and various department personnel to satisfy customer needs in shipping and documentation; i.e., filling out reports, logs, and files that the customer may require prior to receiving completed product
Keep shipping records organized with job cards and maintain file records of communication between MSI and the customer as directed by the department manager
Record departmental data as specified by the manager to aid in completing reports on production line efficiency and material usage
Coordinate with the shipping/receiving department and freight carriers in order to meet customer shipping requirements
Maintain contact with customers to provide them required shipping data
Generate all necessary shipping documentation and electronically ships product out of the MSI database
Prepare customer product for shipping per customer specific requirements and invoices shipments on a daily basis
Responsible for maintaining customer product inventory belonging to the Continuous Department which includes but is not limited to receipts, shipments, and reports requested by the customer of such product
May fill in to run production line as needed to cover breaks
Performs housekeeping and follows safety regulations
Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of the department
Assists other team members as required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Computer Skills: Must be computer literate, use of Microsoft Office is required
Reading Comprehension: Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, job travelers, and communications
Writing Skills: Ability to write English of a level required for Company shop documents and computer software entry
Mathematical Skills: Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
• Required: High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) preferably in the fields of business, science or technology
Certifications/Licenses: None
Experience:
Required: 1 year experience in logistics, shipping & receiving
Preferred: 2 - 3 years’ experience in logistics, shipping & receiving
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements: This position requires the employee to walk and stand; lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds; finger and wrist dexterity for repetitive motion
Must be able to stand, twist, lift, pinch, walk, bend, kneel and have hand and wrist dexterity. Required to wear PPE (i.e. face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection)
Work Environment: While performing duties of the job, the employee will work in a metal finishing environment. The employee will be exposed to fumes and vapors, high noise exposure. Exposure to chemicals, cold, heat, humidity, dust, fumes, and noise. We provide a regulated, safe/healthy environment for our employees.
ITAR REQUIREMENT
This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
PAY RANGE
$18 - 20 /hour
